Bundy, Stephen and Lucinda (Hewitt)

transpixel
transpixel The Pomeroy map of Clearfield County made in 1866 shows, in the lower left corner, a tract labeled S. Conway, which is "the old Conway place" where Stephen and Lucinda first settled before moving "to Penfield" in 1850 according to Dixon. 1850 is a decent match to the deed of 1848, which shows Stephen purchasing the land he is shown holding on this map just left of and below center, fairly close to Penfield. A.S. Bundy is probably his son Stephen Atwood Bundy. Hickory School is mapped as "S. H. no. 1," probably School House No. 1, and is doubtless where the Bundy children went to school (see how close it is to the old Conway place). In Penfield can be seen L. Burdell, doubtless Lew Burdell who married Elizabeth Hevener and moved to Wabasha County, Minnesota around 1870. Also near Penfield is J.[ohn] B. Hewitt, Lucinda (Hewitt) Bundy's brother. transpixel
