transpixel Jennie Smith Dixon's book, The Hills of Home, describes the settlement of Hickory Kingdom, where the John I. Bundy family settled around 1830. This topographic map shows the location of Hickory School and two runs (Hoyt and Heath) named after early settlers of Hickory Kingdom, and Hickory Road is marked on this map according to modern maps. Following Hickory Road north and around to the east, comparison with the next two maps shows that the land owned by Stephen Bundy was on the right edge of this map where Hickory Road makes an S-shape just before a Y-intersection. The cemetery shown in the S-shape on this map is the Old Bundy Cemetery where Stephen and Lucinda are buried. transpixel
